North American Martyrs Parish is encouraging all parishioners to participate in at least one Dynamic Catholic event offered during the year. The goal of our Dynamic Catholic program is to offer spiritual opportunities for you to grow in your faith.
Parents with children at Martyrs Grade School are required to attend at least one event within a three-year time frame. The three-year time periods coincide with your eldest child in K-2nd grade, then 3rd-5th grade, then 6th-8th grade.

During the 2018-19 School year we are offering the following Dynamic Catholic events:
Begins September 13,2018, on Thursday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. every week and culminates at the Easter Vigil Mass in April of 2019. Free babysitting is available for ages 2 years and older.
Offered on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 p.m. beginning on September 19, 2018, through April 2019, and Thursday mornings from 9:00-10:30 a.m. beginning September 20. The Study includes a video presentation by Sharon Doran, prayer time and small group discussion. The study guide costs $20.

Alpha will meet for one-hour each Sunday evening beginning on September 23rd. It is a series exploring the basics of the Christian faith typically run over an 11-week period. Each week looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. A short video and a meal is part of the evening.
Partners on the Journey
Partners on the Journey – Begins in January 2019 (date TBD) and will be held for 12 weeks. This is a Christian Marriage Enrichment series that combines a Catholic theology of marriage and findings from scientific research to offer couples both inspiration and practical help. Each session begins with prayer – review of the previous session – warm-up questions to introduce the session topic – a video presentation of the current session theme – a couple exercise to help integrate what was presented – large group sharing – homework suggestions – close with prayer. Free babysitting for ages 2 and up.
Financial Peace by Dave Ramsey
Taught by Martyrs Parishioners and begins in mid-January 2017. This is a scripturally based program to becoming financially free – a Catholic guide to managing your money. Babysitting will be available.

A weekend retreat will be offered during Lent 2019 at Martyrs. It begins on Friday night and concludes on Sunday evening after dinner. Couples are encouraged to attend together. The retreat is conducted by members of the parish and a priest. There are about ten talks given over these three days. Babysitting will be available.

Be Transformed will be offered this fall at Martyrs. Bob Schuchts has mastered the healing and restorative power of the sacraments– these transforming rivers of grace that bring us into the abundant life. For lifelong Catholics or anyone who has ever wondered, “Does anything really happen to me when I receive the sacraments” this class is for you. We begin on Monday, September 24th, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm and will continue for 8 weeks. We will be ordering a book for this class that will be approximately $15. There are 27 weekend retreats offered every year and are led by a variety of excellent retreat masters. The Diocesan Retreat House is only 15 miles from NAM and retreats begin on Friday night at 8:15 p.m. with Mass and conclude on Sunday with lunch. NAM SCRIP pays 1/2 of the $170 suggested donation.
