“Let the children come to me;
do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God
belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14
The mission of the Sunday
school program at North American Martyrs is
to bring to life stories of the bible for children ages
3-6. Through crafts, games and songs, children learn and
retain these great stories in a fun environment that is
geared for their age group.
Sunday School is offered for three age groups: 3-4 years, 4-5 years, and 5-6
years:
- The 3-4 year group curriculum is based on salvation history and introduces
children to many biblical figures.
- The 4-5 and 5-6 year group curriculum is based on the liturgical year readings
of the mass.
Sunday school is offered during the 9:30 mass September through April every
Sunday except the last Sunday of the month. This gives the children the
opportunity to still attend mass with their families once a month.
There are currently five teachers for the classes and volunteers are always
welcome. It is so rewarding to see the children having fun while learning about
our faith. Whether you are considering teaching or being a classroom helper,
your help will be greatly appreciated.
