Purpose:
The North American Martyrs God Teen program is a high school religious
program designed to create a positive atmosphere for teens to learn,
share and grow in their faith and morals.
We meet regularly in the homes of married volunteers, “godparents” who
are a second set of “parents” to the teens under their guiding hand of
God. The strong curriculum deals with hard issues such as: suicide,
drugs, music, dating, physical appearance, fair fighting, friendships,
vocation and personal prayer.
With all of the pressure on teens to get involved in risky behavior—the
God Teen program seeks to encourage a safe and confidential atmosphere
for open discussion and learning. We want to develop strong
decision-making skills in our teens to enable them to take charge of
their lives in extraordinary ways based upon scripture and an unwavering
faith in God.
Meeting Times:
Our current group of teens met with their class every other week for 1.5
hours, 2 times per month. Social events occur every 3rd meeting or so.
The entire group meets every 3 months.
Activities:
Social: Speed Indoor Racing, miniature golf, bowling, water games at the
park, hay rack rides, Fat Tuesday party, pizza parties, scavenger hunts,
football parking, canoeing trips, camping trips, movie nights, barbecues
and a trip to Worlds of Fun.

for Life, Life Chain, City Mission, highway cleanup, wrap Christmas
