Choir and Music

North American Martyrs School provides the opportunity for our students to participate in various activities in addition to their normal classroom instructions.

Band
Instrumental music instruction is offered to students in grades 5 through 8 through the Pius Music Department.

The following letter was sent home with band students regarding the Spring Concert:

Dear Band Parents:

All 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade band students are expected to attend the following rehearsal and concert (with the exception of illness or family emergency):

The rehearsal for the Spring Band Concert will be Monday evening, May 12th, in the gym at Pius.  Beginning Band (5th) will rehearse from 6:30 to 7:15pm.  Advanced Band (6th, 7th, 8th) will rehears from 7:15-8"15pm.  Students must bring their instrument, music stand from home and music.  (If you have students in both bands, have them bring something silent to do during the other band's rehearsal).  Students may wear casual clothes to rehearsal.

The Spring Band Concert will be Tuesday, May 13th at 7:00pm, in the gym at Pius (be there at 6:45).  Students must wear school uniforms.  Students must bring their instrument, music stand from home and music.  The concert will last about one hour.

Please plan for this rehearsal and concert now, as they are a very important part of your child's band experience.  If you know of a conflict now, please let your band director know as soon as possible.  If your child is ill or an emergency comes up the day of the rehearsal or concert, please leave a message for either Mike or Karen Murphy at 423-4754.

Thank you and God Bless.
