Boys Town Social Skill: Resisting negative peer pressure (older students)\/ accepting winning appropriately (Sep. 23 – 27)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Resisting Peer Pressure:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Look at the person<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Use a calm, assertive voice tone<\/li>\n
  3. State clearly that you do not want to engage in the inappropriate activity<\/li>\n
  4. Suggest an alternative activity and give a reason<\/li>\n
  5. If the person persists, continue to say “no”<\/li>\n
  6. If the peer will not accept your “no” answer, ask him or her to leave or remove yourself from the situation<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Accepting Winning Appropriately:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Look at the person or members of the team who lost<\/li>\n
    2. Remain pleasant but not overtly happy or celebratory<\/li>\n
    3. congratulate the other person or team for a good dame and for trying<\/li>\n
    4. Do not brag or boast about winning<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Pius X Cheer Camp<\/strong>– The Cheer Team at Lincoln Pius X High School is hosting its annual Junior Cheer Clinic from 3:30 to 5:30 pm, Saturday, Sept. 21 in the Pius X Commons. The kids will learn cheer routines through a variety of fun activities and have an opportunity to perform their cheers during the Pius X home football game starting at 7pm on Friday, Oct. 4.       Pius X Basketball-<\/strong> Thunderbolts Youth Basketball is hosting Open Gym for all Junior High boys grades 7-8 at Pius X High School. This is open to all Junior High Boys grades 7-8. They will be finished playing no later than 8:00pm. Rides can pick up at any time if your son needs to leave early.<\/p>\n
