Mental Health Matters

Many children struggle to express what they’re feeling because they don’t have the words for it. Teaching them an emotional vocabulary can help. Start with basic emotions like happy, sad, mad, and scared, and gradually introduce more specific feelings like frustrated, nervous, excited, or proud. When kids can name their emotions, they’re better
equipped to manage them.

You can practice naming emotions to help your understanding with your kiddo by asking:

  • “How do you feel when something doesn’t go the way you planned?
  • “What’s another word for ‘mad’ that might describe how you feel?”
  • “Can you show me your ‘happy face’ or ‘surprised face’?”

Make it fun by drawing or acting out emotions together!

These small moments of connection can strengthen your bond and give your child the confidence to share their inner world.

PTO Presents

Thank you for supporting Martyrs Night Out! We received $289.28 from Amigos.

On Monday, January 27th, all are welcome to join the PTO meeting at 6pm in the parish hall. The PTO will share their upcoming fundraiser. This year, they have stepped away from POP and will facilitate a similar fundraiser in house using the platform, Raise Craze, which allows our school to keep 90% plus of the donations. Save the date! On Monday, January 27th we will kick off our annual fundraiser. Stay tuned for more information and we hope to see you at our next meeting. To learn more, watch this 2-minute video:  https://vimeo.com/103130774
  • What is Raise Craze? Raise Craze is an online platform enabling students to set up secure, custom websites where they request donations via email, text, or social. During the fundraiser, students pay it forward by completing Acts of Kindness for others. Spend time serving not selling!
  • Why Is It Important? We want to continue to make our school a better place by providing helpful and enriching benefits to our students & families, but that takes money! We’ve chosen Raise Craze to help with these needs because it keeps kindness and inclusivity at the center, while allowing our school to keep 90% PLUS!
