CCD

Students in first through eighth grade who attend public schools or are home-schooled during the school year are invited and encouraged to participate in CCD. Classes meet on Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30pm beginning in September.

Philosophy

North American Martyrs CCD Program seeks to fulfill the mandate of Christ to teach the gospel to all people. (MT 28:18-20)

As a religious institution, the school seeks to assist Catholic parents in their duty as the primary religious educators of their children by teaching ecclesiastical doctrine and building community through common prayer and Christ-like service.

Goals

The goals of North American Martyrs CCD program are:

To offer instruction in Catholic doctrine and morals
To provide an environment supportive of religious values
To form students in the practice of prayer
To form students in the practice of virtue
To provide opportunities to participate in the Church’s liturgy and devotions
To unite parents, students, and the church in the work of Catholic education
To lead students to hear and respond to God’s call to holiness, a particular state in life, apostolic action, and heaven
To prepare students in the 2nd and 5th grades to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation.

Meeting times

CCD meets every Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm during the school year for students entering the 1st grade through 8th grade.

Throughout the year we provide opportunities for Mass, Stations of the Cross, the Rosary, Confession and visits from our parish priests to the classrooms during the allotted CCD meeting time.
